Ambush Ends Season as World Series Finalist

Ambush started the 17 Tournaments World Series on Friday night against a familiar foe, the Coosa Bandits. The boys came out prepared and earned a 12-4 win in the opener. The entire team played well and earned the Effort Chain.

Saturday saw the team open up with the Piedmont Dogs. Ambush jumped on them early with 7 in the top of the first. They then cruised to an 18-4 win behind two homeruns from Davis Fuentes, two homeruns from John Martin Parrish, and a Grand Slam from Parker Dove. Parker also won the Effort Chain.

The 2-0 Ambush team played their 3rd pool play game against the Etowah Co. Athletics. The same story as the first two games saw Ambush jump out early and stay ahead. The boys won 17-2 and earned a perfect 3-0 pool play record. Walker Sumerel earned the Effort Chain with a 2-3 game at the plate, 2 RBIs and 6 putouts in the field.

As the #1 overall seed, Ambush had a bye and then played the 4/5 game winner, Sandlot Beasts. Ambush won the game 11-3 behind solid defensive work and good team offense. Davis Hettich earned the Effort Chain for his play.

Playing their fourth game of the day, Ambush had some untimely errors and missed some key opportunities as the title game slipped away. They didn‘t go down without a fight though, losing 10-6 to the Coosa Bandits.
